Abstract
Cervical cancer diagnosis is a stepwise process that relies heavily on laboratory evaluation, beginning with routine screening and progressing to detailed tissue analysis when abnormalities are detected. This article explores how cervical cancer is identified from the laboratory perspective, highlighting the roles of Pap smear cytology, HPV testing, and histopathological examination. It explains how cervical cell changes develop, how samples are processed, analyzed, and how results are confirmed as well as graded. Emphasis is placed on the importance of early detection, accurate interpretation of findings, and advances in diagnostic technology. By understanding what happens inside the lab, patients and healthcare providers can better appreciate how timely and precise diagnosis supports effective treatment and improved outcomes.
